He choked, she didn’t: Proof that first aid training saves lives

Want proof that first aid training is worth your investment?  Here’s a story shared by a participant in a recent first aid, CPR, and AED training class.

“I want to thank you for the CPR, AED and first aid training I participated in last month at [our company]. It paid off… I truly didn’t think I could help a person in my family, I assumed I would panic.

NOT SO…. Last weekend my husband and I were at a wedding.  As we were all eating, laughing, etc., he grabbed my arm and looked at me with frightened eyes. The person next to me asked if he could breath and he shook his head, “no”.  I grabbed him by the arm, stood him up, gave him the Heimlich 2 times, and the food that was lodged was cleared.  I had no panic in me at all – just complete knowledge of what I learned!

Needless to say the table I was at (which included my son) and surrounding tables were quite impressed.  My husband and I were just grateful he was okay, and we went on to have a fun night.

Thought you would like to know your work pays off.”
