Respiratory Safety

Millions of Americans work each year in environments with harmful dusts, fogs, smokes, mists, gases, vapors, or sprays that require them to wear respirators. The OSHA respiratory protection standard applies to all occupational airborne exposures to contaminated air where the employee is: 1) exposed to a hazardous level of an airborne contaminate; 2) required by the employer to wear respirators; or 3) permitted to wear respirators.  Fox Valley Safety can assess your work environment, recommend protection, and ensure your employees know how to use and maintain it before they enter an environment in which it will be necessary.

Respiratory Safety Training Includes:

  • Respiratory hazards in routine and emergency situations
  • Respirator and cartridge or filter selection
  • Respirator use and wear
  • Respirator limitations
  • Respirator maintenance

Fit testing is required annually for employees wearing employer-mandated tight-fitting respirators.
